I had to document this!

I've seen both the new med student and my GI doctor, and they are happy with my response to the antibiotics. Good start!

Soooo, the nurse just came in to give me my last morning meds. Hello steroids! She said my diet has just upgraded to full liquids. I just looked at her and said "What????" She proceeded to tell me about the additional drinks I could have and soups etc. (good grief)
I told her my disease is an allergic reaction, and I'm not in remission. The dietician had me on full formula and 4 specific drinks for 6 weeks along with steroids. Until then and a negative scope, I couldn't change my diet. I could be allergic to apples and apple juice would relapse the disease. She looked confused and said it was in the notes from the doctors. Someone is obviously not in the loop here. After 4 days pain free, there is no way in hell I'm adding anything unless the EoG doctor and nutritionalist ok it. They were the ones who caught the broth and got me in this shape after 4 days.

I've read so many sad stories about this disease - seeing things like this make me understand why people get sicker before better. Even in the top US hospital, only the specialists get it. Scary stuff. My GI doctor said he would write up having allergy testing done as well; since it's an internal reaction to allergies, it doesn't usually work, but could eliminate a few things from the months ahead of food trials to avoid a relapse. Yeah, I like that idea!! I'm still betting I'm allergic to dairy. If we can rule that out potentially, I'm not even going to do the food trials for that! No more pain!
